Cartridge Pool Filters

Pool water is pushed through cylindrical cartridges in a cartridge filter system, which captures particles as small as ten microns. Disassembling the cartridge parts and using high-pressure water spraying is the only method available for cleaning a cartridge filter.

We recommend cartridge cleaning every three to six months, and cartridge replacements every three to five years.

Sand Pool Filters

The 400–700 pound bed of unique filter sand that these filters use to filter pool water ensures quality function. As the water flows through, the sand traps particles as small as 40 microns. When there's enough debris trapped, 'backwashing' reverses the direction of the water flow, removing the trapped particles.

We recommend filter cleaning when the pressure rises between 16 -20 psi, and sand replacement every four to six years.

It is advised that filter sand be replaced every four to six years due to the sand's deteriorating integrity and potential for significantly lessening its capacity to capture particles. It's probably time to replace the filter sand if you're having trouble keeping your pool's water clear.

D/E Pool Filters

D/E pool filters tend to be the most effective. Particles smaller than four microns, which are invisible to the human eye, are captured by D/E filters. When D/E filters get dirty, the water flow is reversed (backwashed), removing all of the previously trapped dirt and debris. Once the water flow is returned to normal, fresh D/E powder is added to the pool skimmer to coat the grids once more. D/E filters contain filter elements that are coated with a white D/E powder (Diatomaceous Earth).
